The webinar highlighed how satellite observations are improving our understanding of global fire activity, revealing that more than 8 million km² of land burns each year, and explored the FireCCI datasets and applications used to support climate and environmental research. The webinar also highlights the importance of accurate wildfire information for understanding the role of fires in the climate system.
