Tipping Point Workshop
Tipping Point Workshop

Last week, the TIME project attended the ESA Tipping Point Workshop alongside the ESA Climate Change Initiative (CCI) Co-location and CMUG Meeting 2026, bringing together researchers from across the CCI community to share progress and align future priorities.

The Tipping Point Workshop focused on advancing the use of Earth Observation (EO) data to improve understanding and early warning of climate-related tipping points. The meeting convened researchers from the six ESA CCI tipping element projects ahead of the wider co-location meeting, providing an opportunity to exchange ideas, address shared challenges, and explore opportunities for closer collaboration.

Discussions covered recent developments in the scientific literature on tipping points, alongside practical challenges associated with data integration and processing for early warning indicators derived from remote sensing.
