Dear CCI Land Cover User,
The ESA Climate Change Initiative 3rd Global Land Cover User Workshop has been rescheduled to the afternoon of 22 October 2020 and will be held virtually.
Objectives. The objective of the workshop is to consolidate the community of users of the 300m long-term global land cover time-series produced by CCI-LC (1992-2015) and the Copernicus Climate Change Service (2016-2019). During one afternoon, we will have the opportunity to exchange on the appropriate use of this time-series and the upcoming 2019 map and identify the needs in the description of the LC to conduct future research.
Agenda. After the opening session, we will listen to various users of the ESA CCI LC map series about their experience of the products in the domains of climate modelling and land cover land use change with specific insights on forests and settlements. Then, to balance the "remote" character of the event, we plan a two-session market place to foster discussions in small groups. Participants will be invited to join a specific channel, hosted remotely by a speaker, where discussion can take place for 25 minutes, just as around a coffee table or at a poster session. A second round is organised to meet and discuss with another speaker.
Registration. Please register for the workshop before 20 October 2020.
Access. The practical details of web access and market place organisation will be communicated to registered participants.
Looking forward to seeing you at the 3rd CCI Global Land Cover User Workshop,
Pierre Defourny (UCLouvain) and Olivier Arino (ESA)
