The European Space Agency's Climate Change Initiative (CCI) includes scientific exploitation studies to address critical climate knowledge gaps identified by leading international research organisations, including the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP)1, Global Climate Observing System (GCOS)2, and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)3.
These studies leverage satellite data for Essential Climate Variables (ECVs) from the CCI programme to enhance understanding of Earth's climate system and its complex interactions that is directly support IPCC assessments.
