Data
Data products from the Climate analysis in African cities (CAIAC) project
The project is generating contextual urban climate data for more than 50 African cities as follows:
- long-term aggregated indicators including the number of days with temperatures exceeding 35°C
- hourly or daily climate variables such as temperature or humidity, for advanced users (storage allowing)
- spatial resolution of approximately 300 m
- covering present-day (2001-2020) and future (e.g., 2041-2060) time periods, considering several IPCC scenarios
In addition, the following flooding indicators are under consideration:
- time series of annual inundation maps / maximal flood depth
- time-varying annual probability of flooding
- estimate of physical damage to buildings and infrastructure
