Discover how melting sea ice influences the rate of further melting using just paper and dice

Welcome to the Albedo game!

This game will help you understand the concept of albedo and explore the effect of different climate change scenarios on the feedback mechanism known as Arctic amplification. The process is described in the Climate from Space web application story Breaking the Ice which you may wish to read before playing the game.

This game is for four or more people or groups. You will need dice and pieces of white and blue paper to play.

The game also supports activities in the education resource pack A Passage Opens, which is aimed at students aged 11+.
