ESA's higher-level training for science excellence aims to prepare tertiary-level students to solve climate-related problems in different economic sectors, from water, to food, to energy, and the natural environment. The Climate Change Initiative programme has developed educational resources for science excellence at the tertiary and scientific levels.

The main objective is to provide learning resources on the use of tools and methods to analyse climate data records and understand the driving mechanisms and impact of climate change.

The educational resources are offered in three ways:

  1. Self-study
  2. Massive open online course (MOOC)
  3. Summer school
